Teaching Practice-2014

Teaching Practice of current academic year started on  16^th July 2014  and ends on  12^th August 2014. Teaching practice gives practical experience to trainees about different problems related to school and classrooms, they get exposure to the students problems, they learn how to apply philosophical,psychological and management principles while teaching ..etc.

 

World Environment Day Celebration

In connection with World Environment Day Celebration a seminar on “Aberrations in Global Climate and Oddments of Biorhythms’ was jointly organized by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment and KUCTE,Kayamkulam on 4^th June 2014 in the college auditorium .The function was inaugurated by  Prof.D. Thankamoney,Former Head,College of Engineering & Former Secretary Kerala State Pollution Control Board.smt.Hena.B,Assistant Professor in Education delivered the  Welcome Speech. Mr.Maheen,College Union Chairman;Sri.M.Abdulla,Vice President,CDC;Smt.Santhi Nair,Assistant Professor,KUCTE,Aryad;Smt.Sherlikutty,Principal,GBHSS, Kayamkulam;Smt.Sabeena, Assistant Professor in Arabic and Smt.Jayalekshmi.C.L,A.O delivered felicitations.Smt.Chitra.I,Assistant Professor in Physical Science delivere vote of thanks for the function.Inaugural function was followed by thematic sessions on ‘Impact of Climate Change on Environment’ ‘Climate Change  and its impact on Agriculture’ and ‘Impact of Climate Change on Biodiversity of Kerala’.

Community Living Camp......a wonderful experience

                             

      A four days residential  Community Living Camp  ‘ MYTHRI- 2014’ was organised in campus on 20^th May 2014 to 23^rd May 2014 as a part of revised BEd curriculum 2013 of Kerala University. The camp was inagurated by Smt.Saira Nujumuddin,Chairperson,Kayamkulam Muncipality.Vaious personalities like Sri.K.Pushpadas,Counsellor,Kayamkulam Municipality;Smt.Bhamini Sourabhan,Charperson, Education Standing Committee;Smt.Jaleela Sakeer, Chairperson, Health Standing Committee;Sri.M.Abdulla, Vice President ,CDC; Smt. Sherlikutty,Principal ,GBHSS, Kayamkulam; Smt.J.Sudha, Headmistress, GBHS, Kayamkulam and Smt.Jayalakshmi.C.L,A.O  attended the function .Smt.Sobha A.R,Assistant Professor in Hindi delivered vote of thanks.Various academic as well as entertaining and sports activities were arranged on these days. Sessions included seminars on topics like’Guidance and Counselling,Life Skills,Simple ways of Excellence and other programmes like Kaviyarangu,Mock Parliament,Agriculture, Thalalayam, Procession, Survey,Medical Camp…etc.Validectory function was inaugurated by Smt.Beena Perumpuzha,Assistant Professor,KUCTE,Kumarapuram.

Study Tour

After the tight and hefty academic activities in the First Semester followed by University exam for a relief  a one day  study trip was arranged on 7^th May 2014 . After all  in depth exploration of nature and history is an inevitable experience for a prospective teacher. The destination selected for the tour was Ernakulam. The spots visited inclues Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Alapuzha beach, Marine Drive and Cochin Synagogue at Mattanchery are  a few to mention.
